Katoomba Civic Centre

Location: Katoomba NSW

This project involved the refurbishment of the existing Civic Centre and Retail Stores in the heart of Katoomba. The Civic Centre remained operational throughout the construction phase with Zadro providing access to the public library and seniors dining area. The new design incorporates energy efficiency with solar water heaters and solar energy for the building. The civic centre boasts and new rainwater retention tank, primarily for toilet flushing. The new landscape design is featured around grand sandstone stair entrance off Katoomba Street with range of coloured pavers to the open courtyard.

Lawson Amenities

Client: Blue Mountains City Council

Location: Lawson NSW

The construction of the public amenities was designed by local consultant ECO Design Architects and featured solar panels and underground water tanks in the interests of energy and water efficiency. The external facade consist of concrete filled block work with ochre coloured bag render. The roof structure is a curved roof from structural steel framing with the columns concrete encased in an elliptic shape. The toilet systems runs completely from rainwater re-use, caught from the roof and stored in 2 underground holding tanks. The design for the amenities incorporates rainwater harvesting using underground water tanks, energy efficiency using solar PV cells and a "raingarden" which will be watered using the hand basin run off.

Zadro Constructions were engage to repair, replace and upgrade the existing Endeavour Energy river warning sand advisory signage. The project involved complete works in remote areas, only accessibly by barge in some areas.

Built for UrbanGrowth, this villa style group home for the disabled comprises of five bedrooms, four bathrooms, staff/common areas, attached garage and installation of new landscaping and fencing with an outside shaded pergola area.

This project provides accommodation to people of all ages with a disability who can not live at home or independently.

Westconnex New M5 St Peters Operations Complex

Situated on the old Alexandria landfill factory, the St. Peters Interchange provides a central hub for the 33 kilometer motorway project. Zadro undertook the building fitout of the Motorway Operations Complex (MOC4 & MOC6) including the installation of Metal Roofing, Architectural Metalwork, Fire Rating, External Cladding, Blockwork, Seismic Joint, Roof Access Systems, Data Access Flooring, D&C of Fire Rated/ Pressure Doors and applied finishes. This complex will be utilized as a Ventilation, Supply intake and Substation Operations centre for the St. Peters Interchange

AGL Lakeside Pavillion

Client: The Australian Botanic Garden

Location: Mt Annan NSW

This award winning modern steel structure was designed to require almost no maintenance which was made from sustainable and recycled materials and has been constructed with a view to resource efficiency, life span and ability to age well of the materials, which are used without further embellishment or treatment. It captures its own rainwater and uses no electricity. 
With complete. 360 degree views of the stunning garden and lakeside, this permanent marquee can cater for events ranging from casual picnics  to 200 people. It was built to thank the people of the Macarthur community and to help benefit and enhance their experience at the gardens. The AGL Pavilion is located near the stunning Connections Garden within the Garden’s Central precinct

Royal Botanic Gardens

Client: Royal Botanic Gardens

Location: Sydney NSW

The project intent is to construct a missing link between two pathways incorporating a new concrete path and a raised timber boardwalk around a large fig tree within the gardens on the waterfront.
Construction consists of bored concrete piers, footings, blockwork, random sandstone retaining wall, suspended slab and a timber boardwalk.
